Review: Get Out Of Bed! by Robert Munsch
Paperback: 32 pages
ISBN-10: 0590124730
ISBN-13: 978-0590124737
From the back cover:
When Amy won't get out of bed, her parents don't know what to do. Amy's brother comes up with a wacky solution that gets Amy to school on time - but will her school ever be the same?
Jordan's thoughts:
Amy couldn't get out of bed because she was watching the late show and it made her really tired. Jordan says you would get in trouble for sleeping in (on a school day). Her favourite part was when the kids were in art class. They painted and wrote on Amy as she slept. She gave this book 2 thumbs up.
Mom's thoughts:
Robert Munsch is a classic kids story teller. His book are full of fun silliness while trying getting a point across, in this case don't stay up late on a school night. While the solution used isn't something you could actually get away with, it does make the young readers laugh at the possibilty. As for a parents perspective, I know that Jordan wakes up at the crack of dawn on the weekend but could definitely sleep in on any given weekday. I totally empathize with these parents!
Sadly, the message here hasn't made its mark yet on my own child ;-) But all in all, it's a very cute book, good for young school age kids.
Happy Reading!
